Standards of Construction

All our boilers are of all copper construction, fitted with bronze bushes and silver soldered throughout. They are manufactured in accordance with the Code of Practice and standards as laid down by the Association of Professional Copper Boiler Makers (ME), and hydraulically tested to twice maximum allowable pressure and supplied with CCIT (Certificate of conformity and initial test). Should you wish, this test may be witnessed at our factory by arrangement.

Conforms with the provision of the Pressure Equipment Directive SI/1999/2002 We reserve the right to modify any design to comply with latest standards.

The picture below shows a 5g Torquay Manor boiler undergoing its pressure test. The pressure gauge reads 200 lb/in

Care of your boiler

It is recommended that your boiler be tested by hydraulic pressure to 150% of the design working pressure every two years by a competent person.

Any alteration carried out to, or holes drilled in, the boiler will need to be followed by a further proof test as above.

A safety valve constructed and set in accordance with B.S.6759 must be fitted.

To ensure the continued safe working of your boiler we would suggest the following basic procedures be carried out each time you use the boiler.

If you have any queries concerning the safe use of your boiler please do not hesitate to contact us.
